Description

A classic Texas-style BBQ Brisket with tender smoky flavor, ideal for gatherings and impressing guests.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 pounds beef brisket
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Rub the spice mix all over the brisket.
  4. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the brisket on each side until browned, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  5. Transfer the brisket to a roasting pan. Pour the beef broth around the brisket and cover tightly with aluminum foil.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 3-4 hours, until tender.
  7. Remove from oven and let rest for 20 minutes before slicing.
  8. Serve with BBQ sauce.

Notes

Let the brisket rest after baking to keep the juices in. For deeper flavor, let the spice rub sit on the brisket for a few hours or overnight.
