Description
A classic Texas-style BBQ Brisket with tender smoky flavor, ideal for gatherings and impressing guests.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 pounds beef brisket
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).
- In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Rub the spice mix all over the brisket.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the brisket on each side until browned, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Transfer the brisket to a roasting pan. Pour the beef broth around the brisket and cover tightly with aluminum foil.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 3-4 hours, until tender.
- Remove from oven and let rest for 20 minutes before slicing.
- Serve with BBQ sauce.
Notes
Let the brisket rest after baking to keep the juices in. For deeper flavor, let the spice rub sit on the brisket for a few hours or overnight.
